Joel Meyerowitz

I do like his work because it is very interesting, he doesn't use a model he takes pictures of things how they are. For example the photo below is in the middle of the street with lots of people doing there own thing and he has obviously just made sure he has captured the photo at the right moment. Also on the photo you can tell that he has thought about his composition because half of the photo is taken up by people and the other half is taken up by the buildings/sky. I also like the top photo because he has composed it really nicely with the speaker right in front of her face, it is the exact size of her face and looks really nice. I also like the black and white he has used on the top photo. I think he photographed in these locations because they're public places everyone is and thats where action really takes place. On the photo below I think he's trying to catch the moment, it could be someone looking at someone or the emotion on someones face, or even something happening. But I also think its the effect A lot of people in one photo have. The words I would describe these types of location is exciting because you never know whats going to happen. If you was going to shoot somewhere like this I guess you would mainly have to think about time and composition because the composition makes these types of photos and I think you need the time so you can wait and then catch the exact moment you want when it comes.

I do like his work its interesting. I like it because the photographer obviously makes it obvious that he is taking a picture of the person because they're either smiling or laughing while the photo is being taken. I think its clever how he's done it. I like the way in both photos he has obviously made it that he is taking them photo of the people and its like theyre not sure how to act so they just laugh. These photos dont really tell a story to me, I feel more like how did he do them. I think he photographed them in a busy location and focused on certain people to get the different reactions because not everyone would react the same. I think he has tried to catch the moment of the person realizing he is taking a photo and laughing. The words I would use to describe his work funny, because I think he has taken the time to go out and take photos that could be done pretty seriously but then he has changed it around and mad it different. If you was going to shoot somewhere like this you would have to consider people maybe not being happy with there picture being taken so someone may start on you or there is a chance on getting robbed, but with some of his work he has obviously asked the people to pose for him.Landscape

I do like these photos because they aren't bright and they're quite gloomy I like this look a whole lots better then the all natural alive country side this is all dead. You can tell he hasn't used any lights or anything he has just used natural light and picked the right time of day. You can tell that he has obviously thought about about where he is taking the photo, what time of day and what type of weather it was. These photos do tell a story to me it feels like he's trying to tell us there isn't just beauty in nature there is also death. I think he photographed the photos here because it is different to where people normally photograph, he has taken a well known type of photography and gone a whole different way around it. I think he has tried to catch the moment when the weather is just right and the lighting how he wanted, he probably had to go back a couple of times to get the shot that he wanted. If you was going to shoot something like this you would have to consider the weather, what time of day it is and making it different to other peoples work.Bas Meelker
